We'll be at The European Music Fair in Warsaw!

The European Music Fair is one of the most important events Poland has to promote music both at home and abroad. The conference part focuses on Digital, the Music Business, Music and Media, and Musical Phenomena. The trade fair includes exhibitors from Poland and abroad – tech companies, festivals, indie and major labels and more. The showcase concerts at the Fair – attended by journalists and promoters from around Poland and representatives of the music industry from around Europe (including agents, labels, publishers and media) – serve up the best of Polish music as well as international newcomer acts.

On 12th of November (Sunday) at 14:00 we will present the results of market survey on export activity of Polish music industry during the panel: "Music Export in Poland – Where are We?". The representatives at the panel will be:  Marek Hojda the vice-president of the Society of Authors ZAiKS,  Jan Młotkowski the heads the Communication Dept of ZAiKS and  Bogusław Pluta - MLC director of the Polish Recording Industry Association ZPAV.

The subject of the session will be the presentation and discussion the results of the Market Survey on export activity of Polish authors, artists and record labels.

Despite the fact that Poland has 40 million citizens and the music market has been expanding significantly (6,5% up in 2016), Polish music is known abroad mostly for classical music and jazz. In 2017 the Polish organizations: ZAiKS representing authors’ rights and ZPAV, representing music producers’ rights, with support of the Polish Minister of Culture conducted a special survey about current situation of Polish pop music abroad. The biggest Polish bands and music companies with experience in this area took part in the survey.

In the session we will be addressing the following questions: How big is Polish export music market?; Could Polish music be an export product?; What kind of trends can we see on the Polish music market?
